On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September is the last round of the NBCC Blacksmith Competitions show of the circuit and is held at the Cokers Frome showground approximately 1/2mile from Dorchester town centre.
This years schedule is:
Class 1: Any item produced using mainly traditional methods for indoor use Class 2: Any item produced using mainly traditional methods for outdoor use Class 3: Any Item of an artistic nature using any method of construction, with no limit on selling price
Class 4: Any saleable item produced on the showground in 30 minutes Class 5: In 60 minutes Competitors are required to make, on the showground an item on the theme of “by hook or by crook” any size any design competitor to supply material. Points given for inventiveness and function.
Special prizes will be awarded for student entries at the judges discretion. Competitors to supply their own material and tools. Forge anvil coal and vice will be provided. No striker or extra clean up time allowed.
