The Royal Bath and West Show Blacksmith Competitions are held on 31st May to June 3rd this year at the Shepton Mallet Showground and is the second round of the NBCC Championship.
All change at this years B&W Show though. New forge site and new type of competition. The venue remains the same but the Forge site has been moved to the Countryside area, which should give the competitors better access and a different level of public exposure.
The competition is greatly simplified with essentially three classes.
- A static free choice class, upon the NBCC championship will be a part of.
1st £50, 2nd £30, 3rd £20
- A 120 minute live forging class to make a ‘floral item’ to be included in NBCC live forging championship. 1st £50, 2nd £30, 3rd £20
- A daily 60 minute live forging competition, where the winner of each day’s work is awarded £25 prize money.
