Here’s this years Blacksmith Competition Schedule for The Edenbridge and Oxted Show on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th August 2018.
We’ve continued our £100 ‘Best Gate’ prize, there is also £100 Live Forging prize (in addition to NBCC/WCOB funded £100 Prize), Winner takes all 20 minute Live Forging and the ever popular Pairs Live Forging.
The Static classes have evolved too, so this year we have a ‘Sculpture’ class and a class titled ‘Remembrance’…. alongside our Traditional, Contemporary and Industrial Classes.
We have a free to enter Student class as in previous years with free lunch included.
This years schedule is as follows:

The Edenbridge & Oxted Show Blacksmith Competitions encourages and promotes the hot forging of Iron, Steel and other metals. All of the static competition entries (except Class A) may use any method of construction, BUT should primarily be designed and made using hot forging techniques. Class A is strictly a ‘by Hammer & Hand’ class, thereby encouraging ONLY the use of hot forging techniques in the design and construction of the piece.
